Hey all, new here and new to Elk hunting. My group is locked in to hunt Unit 24 first rifle. We are doing a drop camp somewhere in the Marvine drainages about 4 miles into the wilderness area. I am to lock down an opening day strategy, anyone with experience in the area I would love a chance to pick your brain. Any advice is welcome also!

I've never hunted Unit 24 but have heard a lot about it. If I were you, I would be discussing this more with the outfitter for sure. If you are paying them a decent amount of money to bring you in, I would certainly expect them to provide you some information on where to go. If they can give you a better idea of where your camp will be, that would help you e-scout as well.
No offense, but if someone has a decent elk hunting spot anywhere close to the area you mentioned, they aren't going to share information about it with you, especially over a public forum. That's how you ruin a spot.
