Nice bull Brent! Glad to hear the call gets a good review from you as I?ve got one on the way.

Side note, but it looks like that bull was maybe taken during a rifle season since you have the orange on. If that?s the case, we?re you able to call the bull in with a bugle or cow calls? Don?t hear of many folks calling bulls in during rifle seasons, especially with bugles, so was just curious.

My buddy is ordering two for both of us. Hoping it is the Cow?s Meow!!!

That bull could have been taken during muzzleloader season in September.

Got mine in and have to say it's an excellent call. Very easy to use and it makes even my lackluster calling sound pretty good!

Muzzleloader season here in NM is October 6th and the Bulls are still hot and cranking! The big guys are getting ready to split off again but last year everything was late and it was a great hunt.
Congrats on your bull!

Primos have always been my goto call, but I have had to spend a lot of time tuning (adjusting the gap on the roof plate...breaking in the latex) each one. I also have to rotate between 3 or so when they are at different phases of break-in. Some better for cow calls, some better for bugling, some right in the sweet spot for both.
I ordered and just received 2 of Corey's Contenders yesterday and began testing right away. So here are my first observations:
- threw the call in my mouth and right off the bat I was cow calling without any kind of break-in period. No trimming...no bending...right out of the case and into my mouth.
- So my first thought after was "Hmmmmm...not bad". Next thought was "since it was so smooth with the cow calls, would it just blow out, distort, with the added pressure?" That happens a lot with singles that are sweet on the cow calls. They flatten out on tones when you try to go big. So, I went big and top toned solid and smooth. Now, I will say that the pressure needed was different. I didn't need to be as hard on the latex as from what I use on a Primos.
- As far as durablilty? That is yet to be seen and I will post back when I have put it through the paces. I bowhunt myself starting September 1st or so and then I guide elk hunters until January (by then, my cow calls are to stop moving bulls for the shot). So my calls get quite the workout. I generally go through a few Primos in a season, so I am anxious to see how these hold up.
- Build? If you do use a Primos Ivory plate or similar , the basic size is exact. The main difference to me currently is the roof design. Now, I am definitely not an engineer...FAR from it, lol..but the way the roof design is set back a little bit from most "plates" and with the split in the middle, it seems to let your palette get involved more naturally affecting the tone, rather than having to adjust the call itself. I know Corey has done extensive tests on the latex, which would also be the main difference between it and other calls. AND, that would be the main reason for tone control and durability, but I won't know about that until a lot of use.

So, with all that said;

Ease of use: A
Tonal quality: A
Design: A
Durability: Jury is still out

If you are new to using a mouth diaphragm call... this is definitely the call for you.
If you have had a hard time making sounds with a mouth diaphragm call... you need to re-evaluate and use this call.
Am I recommending it to my friends? yes
Will I be using this call come September...you bet. However, I will be doing side by side comparisons and give a final review at the end of the '18 season.

Eeeeeeeeeeeuuugh!
