Couldn't get it done

Went out Sunday morning, got to the top of the ridge. Stopped to listen and low and behold Mewing down the hill. Circle down the hill see the elk and with them was a super nice 6x6 at 50+ yards. He didn't know we were there but I think he saw our movement (rookie mistake) and eventually stood looking straight at me at 45 yds    then down the hill he went. We were able to see him again as he was headed back to the top of the ridge (only saw the last two tines of the antlers as he was going to come over a small rise STRAIGHT AT ME) THEN THE WIND SHIFTED AND BLEW STRAIGHT TO HIM    so DOWN THE HILL HE GOES. I know where he lives now though.


I will be after him again though, sometime this week.

I have not, I was actually right across the valley from it; this weekend is going to be your spot.

Hit it hard and you'll get a monster. Home up that rode all the way to the top. There is a huge glade up there and you will be able to locate some for sure. I wish I could go there with you. Colorado's 12,000 ft mtns are rough.
