Coyotes?

Are they an issue in your area? If one were to approach during a calling setup would you shoot it? (Assuming you have your small game license)

Last year my son and I were set up on a trail doing some calling and we had a coyote come sprinting in on my son. It was within a few feet of him before he even realized something was coming at him.

I know they are all over the place where we will be deer hunting this weekend and I wasn\'t sure if it\'s worth interrupting a hunt if one walks through. :dk:

Coyotes are legal to shoot anytime with a small game license.
And even a NR with an unfilled elk tag can shoot them.

I will try to shoot a coyote almost anytime I can, but populations are down right now [rabbits are up]

The pelts arent good yet, so it would be just population control if you do shoot one
