Deer Pref Point are updated [Again]

Thanks Brad! Are they still doing the backdoor method at all? I am just wondering if there is a way to figure out if you draw your 2nd choice tag. Do you have to wait for the tag to show up in the mail if it isn\'t your first choice?

Most of the drawings have been done on a Friday.
Usually by the mid-week of the following week, the \'backdoor\' method\' seeing the 400 or 500 codes will show up.

With pronghorn being on Wednesday, there could be a good chance the backdoor or codes will be available by Friday.

The back door was showing my bear tag on Sat. It drew on Thur. I\'m thinking it might show deer on Monday since it drew on Fri.
 
Me and two others in my group appear to have drawn our early high country rifle mule deer tags! We are stoked and have found a few places to start scouting after pouring over maps and google earth in anticipation of getting these tags. It will be fun, as we\'ve never primarily targeted mule deer.
 
My son Josh and I drew our archery buck tags in the unit we hunt elk! I sure would like to tag a big muley in velvet this year.
 
Not sure why my deer points aren\'t showing for 2014. Bear points are updated for both me and the Mrs. Put wife in for a pref point and it shows. I put in for archery deer on first choice but don\'t show any 2014 numbers under my preference point search. Confirmed my application was correct. Even tried the CDOW backdoor but no 500 type code shows listed.

Hope that I drew and it just hasn\'t posted yet. Things like this always make me suspect of the drawing process(and groups that draw with fewer points than an individual application).

Interesting Russ...I know backdoor isn\'t showing, but the Preference Points should be updated. I drew and mine went to 0 points, but for others where I have gained a point, those are updated as well. You\'ll have to keep us updated on what you find out.

Did you have any deer points before the draw? If you didn\'t have any points, and you got the tag. Nothing will change, because no points were involved. If you didn\'t get the tag it will show you gaining a deer point for 2014.
 
Broke down and just called the CDOW while on their website. It said \"Contact Us\" - so I did.

Pretty sure that I drew my buck tag because the phone rang, recording started, I hit #whatever to talk to a customer rep and I\'ll be damned if a live person didn\'t come on the line! She was very nice, informative and told me there was another posting this evening at 5 pm and not all are up yet! So, pretty sure the moons are aligned with me getting that kind of customer service without having to be on hold for an hour. Must be the new Parks side covering while the Wildlife side was at lunch!! :)

Will check again tomorrow.
 
Still Hunter, issue is that when I check the pref points it doesn\'t show a Deer 2014. I didn\'t have any points and it was about an 80% chance last year on first choice with 0 points.

Bear 3 0 2014
 
You got the tag. If you had no points, and got the tag. Nothing changed in your points. It would only show deer for 2014 if you gained a point by losing the draw. Just like it\'s doing for bear. You didn\'t get the bear tag.

That\'s how I know Josh and I drew. 0 points going into the drawing and nothing changed after the draw.
If you hadn\'t drawn you would show 1 point for 2014.
 
It is also my understanding that if you did not draw your first choice you are issued a PP.
For those that noticed their points zero out but aren\'t sure if they drew their first, second or third choice.
If you were to draw your second, choice you would then be awarded a PP for not drawing your first choice.
At least that is the way I understand it.
 
You would gain one point for not getting your 1st pick, but that doesn\'t guarantee you got you 2nd, 3rd, or 4th pick until you see the complete results.
