Its great to see everyone is taking a cow when they can or want to.
I like to think of it like this...

If I shoot a cow, I get to do the following \'Top Ten\' things:

1- use the broadheads, arrows and bow I bought
2- use the knife I sharpened
3- use the pack I bought
4- use the para cord I bought
5- use the game bags I bought
6- use the coolers I bought
7- drink the celebratory \'cheers\'
8- use the meat grinder I bought
9- fill the freezer I bought
10- feed myself, family friends...

I aggree with everyone buuuut I\'ve Taken 2 elk to date and both being cows. That being said I told myself I would pass all cows in 2017 because I really want to bull under my belt to break the ice so to speak. Call me crazy but I\'m holding out this year for a bull. Fingers crossed...

I plan to go to CO this year in 1st rifle. I would be estatic to kill a cow. Y\'all got any tips? Especially if all I get is a cow tag?

Marshall, the key, especially in rifle season, is finding the elk. That\'s 90%+ of the battle. There are a lot of ways to do this but I prefer covering ground, either with boots on the ground or via glassing. Glassing is certainly easier on the feet, but some areas just don\'t have good spots to glass from.
