Getting a new Qad just wondering how many of you tie in your rest instead of using the clamp and is it better to tie it in

Yes it's better to tie it. Just too much "WRONG" can happen with the football clamp while elk hunting. You can still adjust the string if you get the newer Ultra Rest, by leaving a little bit of the string coming through the thumbwheel/damper and then just tighten the bolt in the thumbwheel. Also you will notice less shock/vibration "without" the football clamp.

I tied mine onto my cable with a D loop knot then slid it up to the protective coating on my cable been shooting 2 years like that and never had any trouble

I use the football and seems to work fine. With all the other gadgets on a compound, not sure it makes any difference.

I have done both, but I prefer to tie it in. Over time I have had the football slowly wear away at the cable. Nothing dramatic, but I just lean toward having it tied. Works well!
