Early Rifle Above Timberline CO Buck Hunt

Awesome story Ronan, thanks for sharing! Is that a unit that you had to save up some preference points for? I think I remember you saying that, but not sure. Anyway, congrats again, that is a fantastic buck!!

Pete, yes, my brother retained his pref points. He an my other brother will likely draw that tag next year.

Derek, we used 10 pref points. Sorry, my brothers will have my head if I reveal the unit!

Brad, the taxidermist estimated between 170-180 on mine.

Very cool, and I completely understand! Maybe after posting pics of their hunt next year you can fill us in :D

Congrats to you and your buddy, Roman!

What an awesome adventure you two had and the pictures are great! What kind of camera were you using out there?
Those are some beautiful bucks you two shot and it is even better you were able to pull off the 1, 2, BOOM! Not too many people can do that :upthumb:

What caliber rifle were you two shooting out there?

Congrats again!

Dan, I was using my Winchester Model 70 300 Win Mag with Barnes Vor-Tx factory ammo: 180 gr TSX tipped. My buddy was using Berger factory ammo with a 270.

Also, I was just using my iPhone 5c. I bought a Phone Skope kit to put on my Zeiss spotter, so that is how I was able to get the long distance photos.
