I run Ubuntu Gnome 14(Linux OS), but these two are open source and free, and available for Windows. Search, Yahoo or etc., and see if you can find these:
VLC Media Player
OpenShot Media Editor
I know there are others from the "open source community". FOSS -> Free and Open Source Software.
