Anyone been to Elk Creek Outfitters or know anything about them?  I have a hunt booked next Sept 10-18.  References are good, and their kill ratio looks great for bow hunting.  Just trying to get the skinny as much as I can.

You have done good. Just talked to two people here in maryland that just got back from them. Both shot 6x's with their bow. Had some pics of some real studs that were to far. If it is the same as elk creek family outfitters

I'm sure there is more than one Elk Creek in Montana.  Where are you talking about?  What part of the state?  If you're talking outside of Noxon, than I can say the hunting will be tough to say the least.  Thick timber and steeper than a cows face for the most part.  Other than that, have seen some great bulls come out of that country but not in the numbers you might see in other places.  One advantage would be going during archery season as I think it gets hit pretty hard during rifle.

I can speak to this country as I have been hunting it for years and run into some of the outfitters including elk creek. Take big country statement to heart as you will not find more difficult elk hunting anywhere. Is is steep, deep and thick. That being said they do well and there are big heavy bulls in this neck of the woods but they are earned and it is nothing like hunting Co or New Mexico. Check out cody carr and weare outfitters for photos as well. Good luck and start training now.
