Someone\'s plan is to be the only one on his forum that knows anything. Then he can answer all the questions.

He might be the only one there if he isn\'t careful. Good to see you again Still

Good point. Not only do I like to have cover to call from such as a hill but also I like to leave myself the cover to move afterwards, even if its only 10 yards. The first time a bull hears me I\'m CLOSE. When I cut off his bugle he only knows I\'m close and what direction I\"m in since he couldn\'t hear too well over his own bugle. I usually can then hook a lil way from the calling spot to get ready.

Another lil tip. If he comes and you\'re not set up right, he won\'t always blow out of there. I\'ve had times where I held tight in a crappy settup and waited for the bull to leave only to reset and bring him right back with the next noise I made. Often times they can be brought back to a place that they just inspected with a simple stick break or rock roll. So, if ya don\'t have a shot on your first set it still might happen. I\'ve even seen them come in, get squirrely, run away, and then come back in. I bet a lot of guys have given up on \"busted\" bulls that may have come back. Don\'t forget, they want desparately to be with other elk!

I bet this is spot-on ... what we sometimes take as a crafty ol\' woods-wise creature is sometimes just a lucky critter who was actually trying to talk himself out of leaving.
