Elk hunting trip

Hey guys,
Would love to come over next fall and hunt elk, any tips for the hunt and choosing a outfitter and state/ area to hunt for my first trip over?


Going to give myself a year to prepare, all advice is greatly received.

I'd recommend giving Larry Amos at Winterhawk Outfitters in Colorado a call. If you're looking for a classic elk hunting experience in beautiful country with lots of elk, it's hard to beat Winterhawk. If you're mainly interested in a big bull, there may be some better areas, but the overall experience at Winterhawk is awesome and they still kill some great bulls.
