Alright fellas, I would love to hear your input.

We hunt an OTC area here in Utah that gets quite a bit of pressure. But we have had luck in the past in one bowl with elk. I get trail camera pics, we hunt them during the rut, they seem to be there year round almost.

But there is one issue, water.

No matter how much we hunt this bowl we never find water, no wallows, no ponds, no streams, no seeps, nothing. So here is my question to you...

Can elk get enough water from their food source alone? If not, what do you recommend I do to find the water, there has to be some right? Or will the elk move 2-3 miles a day just for water?

Elk have to have water and will travel. Look at Google Earth and seenif you can locate a bright green area in around darker trees. Or look at Topo maps for the small blue lines or ponds. They may be going down the mountain to a creek at night and back up at daylight. Good Luck
