I just got this (and this)
A tiny keychain ferro and magnesium rod. I also got a bigger one for my hunt pack. The wood is padauk and can be scraped for tinder.
Here is the kicker. I can strike a good spark with such light pressure. And a slow and deliberate strike. Using the spine of a razor sharp knife when the cutting edge is facing out; slow and deliberate is a great thing. I\'m a Bic lighter guy thru and thru. But a good backup doesn\'t suck
