Found my tree stand from 20 yrs ago

This fall while archery elk hunting I went into an area I hadnt been to in a long time. Many years ago I build a tree stand over a spring in the area and at the time I didnt own a GPS.


Well, I kinda forgot about it and I started looking for it


It has survived quite well, not safe by any means, but still a good spot as the spring had water in it and elk had been using it.


The spot is now in my GPS and I will be hunting it again

@ DTP - I'll prob put a camera on it next summer and see what happens

@cohunter14 - I think the last time I sat in that stand was 1999ish. Never shot an elk from it

Brad figured as much since that seems to be your stomping grounds. Been awhile since we used to talk on elk camp. Thought I'd drop in and check this forum out since I seem to know some of the suspects.  :dance2:

I believe I'd do a wee bit of repair before I tried to hunt from it again...

I have an area I bow hunted back in the 70's and I checked to see if any of our stands had survived... The old house place is now a pine thicket with no oak timber in sight...
