Found some thick ice today!

Went up lake trout fishing today.
Some places we couldnt get thru!

Nice weather at 10,500ft and and caught some fish too

How deep were you fishing? I was thinking about coming out that way this weekend for a mac attack.

We were in about 35 fow.
Access to Chambers is by hiking in over a mile or by a 2 mile snowmobile ride.
There were a couple other groups that made the trek, we were the only ones with
Snow machines.

I hear Granby is fishing good too.

I\'m planning on hitting it again and Sunday weather looks good.

I was thinking grand or shadow Mtn. Then I could swing over to Willow Creek and clean up on stockers if it is slow.

We\'ve been hitting the ice hard the last coupled days, trying to ice a BIG lake trout.
Yesterday we fished all morning, only to lose a big one, and catch five 20 inchers.
Today we went back and got into 3 big ones, only to break off two and my son had another at the bottom of the ice that didnt want to come up the hole...

We sure had fun tho... those lakers are yummy good when smoked

What do you mean you couldn\'t get through? Thats why they make auger extensions.Right now we have abou 30\" of ice in WI.

I have a 20in extension on my auger
That ice is over 5ft thick!
Thats after shoveling 2 feet of snow to get to the ice/slush

I remember growing up in Lake of the Woods Mn, and standing on the the tailgate of the pickup to run the ice auger
