Frame pack or regular back pack?

I use a backpack that can carry quarters without a problem but im looking at upgrading to the exo mountain gear.

unless you are planning on not adding any weight to your pack (i.e. not harvesting an animal) i would go with a frame pack of some sort. something that is meant to carry heavy loads. personally i use a mystery ranch, but there are many great options out there. kifaru, exo, and stone glacier are all solid companies.

If you have a good backpack that can handle weight and fells good on your back loaded, backpack or one with a frame that the backpack goes on or internal frame.

I like to carry my frame pack as my day pack. I have cursed it many times climbing through thick brush but when the time comes, I want to be ready to haul as much as I can the first load out. If I am hunting from the truck, I may change that mindset.

I use a tenzing 2220 for a daypack/first load front quarter hauler, then I have an alps freighter frame for heavy stuff.

i have both, i leave the frame at the truck or base camp and if i can ill grab the frame on the last trip out but plan on taking the first in the backpack
