Good fitting boots

I also have not seen any deterioration of the boots from using the spray. I haven\'t noticed that my feet sweat any more than normal either.

I think you will be happy with your new boots, Ucs. I have those and like them very much. I think Nikwax is the recommended waterproofer/conditioner for those but others would work.

It\'s funny, I always hear guys complain about the gortex in their boots leaking after only a year or two of service. I had a pair of Meindl Perfekt Hikers for 8 years that never leaked and I have a pair of Lowa Renegades that I have two seasons in and also don\'t leak yet (knock on wood). I\'m currently breaking in a pair of Lowa Caminos that I hope perform as well.

The only thing I can figure why is because my feet barely sweat...even after many hard miles. I\'m thinking the sweaty feet some guys suffer with must deteriorate the seams in the gortex liner.

What I lack in foot sweat I definitely make up for in head sweat...I mean profusely. A gortex hat probably wouldn\'t last me long!

really?

i think 50% of my footwear is Goretex. i am a civil engineer in the field and if i abuse any of my boots, it would have to be my work boots. i wear out the soles..they NEVER leak. my workboots are now always Danner Quarry boots. hell i just Obernaufed them yesterday after 14 days straight field engineering work. and most of the winter was BIBLICAL level rains. not one leak. i get new work boots every 2 years usually. but i wear them at home for digging holes some more.

i just bought Soloman Quest for my light boot option. they are still in a box. waiting for the world to dry up for me to take them to work for the break in period prior to hunting.

my HD boot the Beartooth is super water tight as well. they might be 5 years old now.
