For those of you who hunt in Grizzly Bear habitat as I do how much does the rising population and therefore possibility of encounters factor into your hunt? Has anyone changed area's do to this? If thinking of hunting elk out of state do grizz factor into your choice of area's? Share your thought's. For me it has little impact on my hunt but I have hunted in grizz habitat all my life and while in archery elk season have had 4 encounter's none of them were what I would consider hostile. One was quite nerve racking but never serious.

I too hunt in prime grizzly country every year and usually have no issues. As long as a person takes proper precautions, you should not let it deter you from hunting in areas known for bears. Carry bear spray on your belt in a very easy to access place and know how to get it into action quickly.
