Have you ever hunted multiple states for elk in one year?

Have done it several years and will again this year.  The main thing is making sure you have plenty of time for each state if you want to be successful.  If you are going to do it do it sooner than later or it may never happen.

A win for husbands everywhere! I live in North Dakota, mind you. So, now I?m in the running for Montana, North Dakota and New Mexico.

That's awesome Ivar88!!! My conversations don't go that smooth most of the time

Well, she is looking to get her first elk too, so she understands the struggle!  :haha:

If we don't draw some other state first, we plan to hunt OTC Oregon and Colorado this year. So I am following this post/forum.

Yes, Montana  (non-res) and Washington (home) in past, draw result dependent. Hoping to add CO to the roster this year. With each states staggered opener, it's doable to hit each opener and aside from WA, return a couple times during the duration of the season if need be.

I've done it a few times for Elk.  WY/CO and UT/CO  I try to spread them out as opposed to back to back if possible to allow time to recoup a bit.  Elk hunting can be tough even if you think you are in decent shape.  it's hard to simulate being up before daylight, out all day and back after dark, day after day without feeling it.  So allow some time for rest.  I try to know the weather and if I'm gonna rest, try to pick bad weather days as it's easier to justify extra sleep if it's raining or a snowstorm!

This year I have already drawn an AZ Archery tag. I am applied in UT, NV, Co. If I don't draw another I will Go CO OTC and ID OTC. I plan on hunting Elk in three states this year. (and deer in 2) I love retirement.
