I have always had good success with a cardboard box full of old carpet scraps. I put one behind my block target when I shoot in my living room during the winter months.
got a 20 yard in my basement and I just bought a 4 foot "big green" hanging target , works good even for starting to set up a bow that's not sighted in yet
