It took me 3 years to get my first elk, hoping to continue the success this year.

Great bull, congrats!!!!
Good luck to repeating this season.  :upthumb:
What state will you be hunting?

We hunt Colorado, we became friends with a gentleman a few years back that has been hunting this area for 38 years. He has killed 19 bulls over the years. He has helped us become familiar with the area and shared some great tips with us. In the 3 years we've been hunting my brother has killed 2 cows and a 4x4 bull with his muzzelloader. My buddy has killed a cow and a calf the 2 years he's hunted. I've had 3 chances at bulls that were 5x5 or bigger and missed a cow.

My brothers elk.

He sounds like a great elk mentor! That's phenomenal!
