Can't really say anything different than what you all said. We always bivy so we generally leave camp about an hour before light. We enjoy a fire at camp so we usually camp a mile or two away from the edge of the area we like to hunt. But even with a campfire, we still have had elk walk through camp at night. Plus I like to walk a mile or better to start my day. Gets me warmed up. That way when I have to sneak up to that screaming bull I don't get chilled. I dress very light. Usually for the afternoon temps so I don't have to carry clothes all day in my pack. Just my take on it.
