Last year a friend of mine had good success in an area that had burned a month before season.  I was thinking about giving it a shot this year but didnt know what would draw bulls to a recently burned area.

My brother and i killed a bull in the Bob a few years ago in new growth. I think they like the cover and food.

recently burned areas are the ticket , they will travel to them from all around, they love the new fresh grass when is short and they also like to lick the ash , and when they scrub on the blackened trees it impregnates their antlers and makes them a cool dark color.

burns are great! The new tender grass begins to grow within the month after the fire. Its also great to spot them in and there are still pockets that will not burn. YOu also get some cool looking dark horns!
