My buddy and I hunt archery in Washington. We are looking to start hunting out of state and have chosen Idaho. We have somewhat narrowed it down to units 22 39 and 10 by doing research online. I was just wondering if anyone had any insight on what general areas to go in those units. Not asking for any specific honey holes by any means. More so like what national forests or wilderness areas to hunt. Thanks

Hello there, I am also hunting Elk in Idaho in the McCall area. I would call the Idaho Fish and game warden who works that area. They can be really helpful. and give you a few places to check out. Once you do that you can check out said areas on google earth and also put boots on the ground if you have the time to do some pre season scouting. If you do pre season scouting don't look so much for where the bulls are but rather the look for the cows. Good luck and shoot straight.
