If you had $200

I\'d be tempted to upgrade current gear, i.e. sell something you\'d like to upgrade and then add $200 to get an upgrade. GPS, for instance.

You already have servicable stuff ... I doubt you need anything that you don\'t already own, but you might want a more modern version. A pack, a sleeping bag, a GPS ... even a camera. In fact, as much as you use your camera, maybe it\'s time to consider an upgrade ... sell your old one and maybe some other gear your don\'t use and add the $200 to get a new one.

I\'ve got a decent wish list going, but most of the items are over $200 so I\'d probably end up saving for something. I would be tempted to buy a new barrel for one of my hand-me-down shotguns though. Got an old Sportsman 48 from a grandfather that has a full choke barrel on it. A new modified choke barrel would be less than $200 and would allow me to start hunting with the gun more. In fact, it would make it one heck of a solid option for dove hunting being an autoloader and being as lightweight as it is.

Im hopefully about to have a $1200 taxidermy bill and $140 butcher bill, so I\'d be sticking that in my pocket!

i would save it, but hasnt always been like that. im drooling over a set of golf clubs right now that is on sale, but havnt and wont buy. also a local co just had stripped lowers on sale, an i avoided that. so i doin well.

I make do with what gear I have so the $200 would go in my drawer in the basement toward an elk tag and trip.

Scott, I think that avoiding getting your lowers stripped is not necessarily a bad thing!

I know of a couple of good gunsmiths that will open your shotgun choke up to whatever you desire for under $75.00
