Shoot a SMALL one!! This was a few years back, 5 trailless miles (.5 uphill), 2 guys, one trip packout and by far the toughest of my elk hunting career. So, if you have the chance to shoot the lead cow or something smaller this season, you might want to imagine the packout before you pick a spot . We actually could have shot a double that day. Thank God we thought better of that!

We shot 3 elk one morning, one cow and 2 bulls, 4-5 miles back in. That was my toughest pack
