Hello,  going to CO in late Sept and will be at approx 10,000ft.  I have tried the Zamberlan Vioz Top 1009 which has the Gore-Tex Duratherm liner. The liner provides approx the equivalent of 400-500gr of thinsulate insulation according to the website, although Lathrop & Sons said it's about 200gr. Either way, what's the thoughts/experiances on insulation, amount and type, and is it better to go w/ the un-insulated Vioz Plus. I like the higher 9" Vioz 1009 over the shorter 6" Vioz plus though.

Thanks for any replies,

Mike

I would say if you are hunting in Sept. I would go with uninsulated boots.  Not sure what the temps are like there, but I would guess pretty warm.  My feet don't get hot so I have the luxury of wearing ins. boots in Sept.  I wear the Kenetrek Mountain 400s year round.  If you are doing a bunch of hiking I would guess the less thinsulate would be better.
