Is this year different?

After reading all of these things, it definitely reminded me of one thing: isn\'t this why we love hunting in the first place? For me, it is an escape from reality. It is a way to get out and not worry about the day-to-day grind and all of the real world crap that goes on. Things have been a little rough for me, but for a far different reason than most of you. But all you can do is try to stay positive and get to camp alive so you can revive yourself and prepare for another year :D

+1 And hunting is also how a bunch of people who most have never met each other and live thousands of miles apart can come together and offer support in those rough times. My wife says I talk about hunting too much but I definitely use it as a conversation starter. Its OK to consider this forum as your \"support group\"

Amen to that! :angle:

Actually, this Year has been a little more manageable, since my Daughter is on her own as a Marine now. Just my Son at home now, so a little less drama.

Shooting very well, and feeling great physically. I know I\'ll be ready for whatever happens...and I\'m really looking forward to it :upthumb:

I need catarac (sp) surgery. Saw the Dr. today and he told me he wouldn\'t be back in town until Sept 14. (That\'s live in a remote area) LOL! So we made the decision to postpone it until October 10. Sometimes you can dodge the bullet! :mg:

Nope! I don\'t usually hunt deer unless I spot a good buck that has survived through all the rifle seasons. Then I might put in for archery the following year in hopes that he is still around.

The deer and antelope population in my area has continued to be less and less over the past 4-5 years. So, I haven\'t hunted deer for several years with the exception of what I mentioned above.
