No Cole isnt on my \'team\' - that wouldnt be very fair as he is a much better hunter than I am....

Ok here we go!

Friday night Cole and I made a lap thru the woods, checking the temperament of the conditions...

We found our way to our tree stands and finished out the evening listening and doing some light calling.

I heard a ruckus coming thru the woods so I got my camera ready....

What kind of picnic basket did you use for bait?

The bears were all huffing and puffing so I know they didnt come into our calls [or our Acme Picnic basket]
I figured something had bumped them

Later when we got back to camp we found out what

There was a truck parked next to our camp that lead to an old logging road!

Hmmmm.....

Oh well... the joys of public land hunting.

We proceeded with our Mtn House supper and settled in for the evening

After dark the hunter appeared and came over to visit.
He asked if it was OK if he slept in his truck next to our camp.
I said sure, and we got to chatting about elk hunting and we discussed our plans for the next morning so we didnt hamper each other\'s efforts.

Saturday morning Cole and I headed one way, the other hunter the other.
There was plenty of hunting pressure around but we made the best of it.
Only calling in a spike.

Took some pics too - kinda fun just being \'Guide Dad\'

When Cole was set up out in front of me, I took the opportunity to do a camo check

We wrapped up the morning and headed back to camp to wait for Aaron to arrive.
Had some time, so Cole and I took a drive for a few miles and talked to another camp.
There were 5 guys and they were hunting here and there...

I made a note of this info...

A bit later, back in camp, our \'neighbor\' arrived and we chatted about the morning hunt.
He had seen some elk but things didnt work out...

No Cole isnt on my \'team\' - that wouldnt be very fair as he is a much better hunter than I am....

Brad, I\'ve got 2 sons, 2 daughter in laws and 6 grandkids that are better hunters than me, NOW... :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
