I\'d love to set up an appointment to meet for a day in that unit you sent me to help me figure it out. I had 4 elk within 30 yards but they were coming in from areas i wasn\'t expecting, had a 5x5 bull come straight down a hill at me with his head down, then turned on a dime and walked away straight uphill. (Nothing would stop it, nervous bark, cow mews, nor me yelling, HEY!) Had two cows come in from behind me when the terrain, wind, etc should indicate they should come from the opposite direction. Had a cow still bedded, solo, at 7:00pm. If i had any hair left i\'d have been pulling it out!\"cnelk\" said:

Congrats again, Cole! It was a helluva time Sunday AM. We were absolutely in the ELK! Thanks again for taking me a long, an experience I\'ll never forget.
I do want to say a special thanks to Cole and Brad for letting me tag along. This season again like most are learning experiences. When we were moving in on the setup that killed Cole\'s bull I thought to myself \"knowing the terrain and ground was key here\". In Brad\'s initial post he talks about us cutting the first herd off, which is exactly what we did. Without him knowing the area, we never get to that position on those elk. I heard Janis Putelis of Meat Eater talk about this on a recent podcast how critical it is to know the area you hunt. It absolutely paid off here.

Good deal Brad. Can\'t wait for my youngest. Only another year. My oldest, in Colorado an plays football for Western Carolina, can\'t hunt because of the damn Game. My youngest told me, \"I am not going to play football because it is during hunting season.\" Yeah.. I\'m proud!!
