Remember that little wood stove I made last year?

Well... it wasnt doing much good sitting there all by itself and not a tent with a stove jack...

That is about to change!

My goal is not to purchase stuff when I can make it myself [within reason!]

So I did some research and found this stuff

I sewed a tight stitch around the perimeter of the hole to keep the material from fraying

Then I cut out the 3\" hole and then sewed a flap over it

I carried my sewing machine out to the barn and got out the tent.

Got it all set up and started sewing the stove jack in place

Next came the chore of setting up my 10x12 wall tent...

[Im glad I get up early and get chit done when its cool!]

Then I set it all up

Bingo!

I decided to install a grommet to tie the flap up out of place when in use

Yes - I know I need more stove pipe......

@ Deertick
But Ill be hunting September, October, November and December too! :)

I made a couple more minor adjustments

I took the piece of the heat material I cut off and made a \'saddle\' for the pipe to rest on.
A bit more support and protection

And I went and got another short length of 3\" pipe

I raised the damper up from the stove 8\' and extended the pipe outside

Great job!!!

Most stove jacks run 30 to 40 bucks so you did good

Do you prefer running the pipe out the side VRS the roof and why?

Don

This is my first tent with a stove jack - always used propane
The reason I went thru the side is because I cover all my tents with a tarp

The tent on the left is the one I just worked on

brad, you are the man. although, it looks like ya got a cannon pointing thru your tent.
