Yesterday got a call from a guy who had bought a used crossbow from a guy that had bought it from my dad about 12 years ago. He had shot it and some parts came off, and he lost them. As a lot of you know I liquidated everything but some personal stuff I kept, but I invited him over. We scrounged around and found the bolts and parts he needed for a repair that got him back hunting. Even if the warrantee was valid, which I\'m sure it wasn\'t, sending it to someone would have ended his season.

When it came to the archery shop, I was always my worse boss, giving free labor or small items away when i could have charged. There\'s been a hundred or more times when someone thinks they need a new string and it just needs a $5.00 serving or even just wax. Or they hand me the bow and say \"give \'er whatever she needs\" and I hand it back and say its just fine. Yeah I probably could have made more money doing things different, but its just not right.

Good for you Barry! You might have lost out on a few bucks here and there, but that\'s how you gain a solid reputation and get repeat customers. Plus, it\'s just the right thing to do.

X2....... Its hard to find good honest service these days.

I just wanted to thank you all who participated in this.

You see, this was never about the contest. What we have here in this community that most other forums don\'t have, it is a group of stand up people who are selfless. We are all masters of our own trade, but we use it all for good.

Whether it\'s someone like Terry fixing a car for nothing or Barry working on a bow for free, we use our skills to make other people happy or to make their life easier.

There isn\'t a person on here who wouldn\'t go out of their way or take the shirt off their back to help someone else.
So I really just wanted to highlight this and all of you great people!

I do not think one person on this forum did something good just for the potential of winning a prize. That never even crossed anyones minds.
You all have big hearts and I thank you for what you do every day.

With that being said, I will be sending everyone who posted in here a call :upthumb:
Lark, if you need the roll that bad, it\'s yours!!!

Roman
Barry
Gary
Terry
Russ

Please send me your addresses in a PM and what kind of call you would like: Ridge runner, Bull buster or The Reaper!

Tom

Please send me your address for a fancy new bed roll!

Take care everyone.
