If you are looking for a deal on a floorless shelter, Campmor has the Mountainsmith Mountain Shelter LT as a hot deal at $94.96. They also have a 4th of July special (CODE: RMN10) 10% off, which brings this to $85.46 and there is free shipping for orders over $50. The shelter specs show it at 2 lbs 1oz and the reviews I have seen are overwhelmingly positive for this shelter, so I pulled the trigger and ordered one today. Will look at taking this on some scouting trips in the next few weeks.

Here are some photos of the tarp set up in my yard. It is quite roomy for two. Lawn set is utilizing two trekking poles.

Here it is set up for the first time on my scouting trip this weekend. I\'ll take more of the interior, as some of my photos were blurry. I used two downed branches for the poles, as I needed my trekking poles to get up and down the steep mountains I was scouting. I didn\'t get any rain and not much wind, so not a great test weekend in the elements, but I liked the set up and was my first time using a floorless shelter, which had plusses and minuses. A plus was not having to take off your boots/gaiters everytime to get into the shelter and using sticks for the poles. Biggest minus was some bugs on the inside.

Brad, I did use a ground sheet from one of my tents that I bought for extra floor protection. It worked well in that shelter, as it was for a two man tent, so I not only had an area for my pad, bivy and sleeping bag, but also a place for my hunting pack, spotter, clothes, etc.

I\'m heading up scouting again this weekend, so I will get some better photos of the interor of the shelter.

Bill, it is 54sq ft per the manufacturer. Dimensions are ?142\" x 54\" x 84\" (360 x 137 x 213 cm).

Here are a couple more photos from this weekends scouting - I was almost all packed up and forgot that I needed to take a couple more photos. In one you can see my plastice ground sheet drying out, as I dropped some water on it. The shelter held up fine again, and again no rain.
