Mule deer and removing velvet

In the areas you hunt, when do bucks generally rub their velvet off?
Im putting in for all early season mule deer hunts and in the beginning they will most likely have velvet still.

I was just hoping they would be losing it sometime early September!

Velvet bucks are cool looking. Just have the big boy mounted with it on. :upthumb:

My first bull still had his velvet on.

I\'ve never been a fan of the velvet look, Francis!
That is why I was hoping they would have it gone by the time I hunt them :lol:

I always thought that the reason folks applied for early season mule deer hunts was so the antlers would still be in velvet?????? :? :?
