Been a while, since I\'ve posted. Some of you familiar with me have already seen my euro mount an pedestal I did a couple weeks back. Just thought I\'d share with all of you here. Made it all from scrap metal and wood. I did buy dowel, small piece of leather and sinew to complete the pedestal. Total under $10. Hope you like it.

Really well done Rick! If you get a few minutes, would you mind sharing the process?

That is probably one of the most original Euro mounts I have seen. It turned out great. :upthumb:

Thanks fellas!

Derek... It was pretty easy design. I saw a pedestal online and knew I wanted my next one to be just that, pedestal. The ball just rolled from there. I made it up in about three days. It only took about 2 hrs total, just kept adding stuff to it, like the quiver and arrows. The wrap on the grip is sinew you can buy on a small spool and the quiver is a piece of leather wrapped around a small piece of pvc. I used gorilla glue and also an epoxy to hold things in place. Initially I was going with just a metal base but the initial arrowhead I cut out was a bit small which made it top heavy. That is why I added the piece of wood. Which is a top off of a crate. The arrows are from dowel that I actually cut down some old plastic vanes to glue on for fletchings. The edging on the metal and the wood was made with a clean up grinding wheel. I just depressed it continually to get a knapped look around the edge. Oh, and the bow was just a piece of 1\"X 1/8\" scrap steel lying around. Base is 1/4\" plate.

Assembly was just welding the bow and skull holder to the plate. Then I stained the wood lightly and then sprayed on clear coat. Painted the stand part and then epoxied to the wood base. Then cut the bottom of quiver to sit an angle and epoxied it to base then inserted arrows. Done!

Did you age that buck at all, Rick?
Looked to be in the 5.5-6.5 range by tooth wear. I have 3 other bucks I\'ve saved the front lower central teeth from. I\'m going to get all three cementum annuli aged. I\'ll post photos of them and let everyone guess at their age and of course with the results.
