Just wanted to introduce my self and say hi. My name is Lance, I'm 30 years old and married with two crib midgets, age 3 and 1. Grew up hunting whitetails, turkeys, and waterfowl mostly.  Over the last 4 years my brother and I have made an annual trip out west and have hunted in Colorado, Nebraska, Idaho, and South Dakota. We've hunted with guides and DIY. We've had limited success but had a whole lot of fun and plan to continue to hunt out west at least once a year. We came up empty in a few elk draws this year so we're tossing around the idea of an OTC elk hunt in Idaho or maybe a spike hunt in Utah.  I look forward to reading through the forum and learning as much as I can.

Welcome Lance.  Tons of good info here and on all of the Elk101 media sites.  Highly recommend the University of Elk Hunting if you haven't given it a try yet.  Consider some of the other opportunities hunting out west can provide - antelope, mule deer etc...

Welcome to the forum. Hunting out west every year is awesome. Don?t ever skip a year if you can help it. Too much fun to miss. Good luck.

Been lurking for a little while.  Finally decided to sign up.
I am a retired Sergeant First Class from the US Army.  Now a high school teacher in Eastern Washington (teach ROTC), which is my home state.  Been a hunter all my life.  Had to take a few years off from it when I was an active duty infantryman getting stationed all over the world, but spent my last few years in recruiting here in Washington, so I was able to start hunting again.  I'm a mule deer fanatic and been trying to draw an elk tag here in WA (the only way to kill a branched antler bull where I live is to draw a tag... something I've been trying to do for 18 years).  Recently started hunting Idaho to increase my odds.
I'm married with two boys 12 and 20, they both hunt with me (the older one is in college, so is able to hunt less than he used to).  I coach the high school rifle team at the school where I work and love working with kids.  We've sent a few off to shoot NCAA on scholarship.  Love my family, love my job, love to spot and stalk.

That's me.  Looking forward to sharing stories with you guys.  :upthumb:
