Odd things found while hunting

Last year, I found a mylar balloon.

Nothing odd ... just trash, or so I thought.

As I got closer, I saw writing on it. It was a \"goodbye\" note ... from a friend, or child, I don\'t know ... to a young lady who had died.

Kind of a somber moment.

I found the same some years back, thought it was strange that there 2 cards with a rock on top set under a tree and when I opened them they were written by 2 women/girls that had lost their Mom. I\'m sure the Moms ashes were there also. Made me miss my Mom that has been gone since 1980.

I wonder if anyone has ever found my binoculars. Left them somewhere in CO unit 25.

I find memorials and they spook the crap out of me. Found one deer in the lodgepole about 400 yards from a big meadow. It was a photograph of this hunter in a waterproofed frame and tacked to a tree with the story of how he had gotten stuck up there (this was way back in) in a snowstorm and frozen to death. I actually sat there for a while that afternoon till I started feeling a bit spooked by it and had to leave.

Found another memorial last year in unit 61...again back in the an aspen grove. That one read something to the effect that the dead guy loved hunting in that area. Must of been back in the day before the draw or when that unit could be drawn with little or no points.

One year some friends and I backpacked in unit 25 (same year I lost my binos) and one guy found an arrowhead at camp. This camp was six miles from the trailhead and right on a small lake. You could tell that that camp spot had been used a lot over the years, and the arrowhead proved it!
