As I always do when prepping for a competition, I've been pouring over every video I can find to see the different styles of calling that I may like/want to try. In doing so I came across a video from the 2010 worlds wherein they were showing the "voice only" division. I've never competed in a venue where this style has been shown, and I've got to ask the people that have done it or know people who have, how in the name of God do full grown men make sounds like that? I certainly don't have the deepest voice out there, but I can't hit any sort of note that even remotely resembles what these guys are doing. I can tell that a few people are making the noises by sucking air in, rather than blowing it out, but still, I gave myself a dizzy head when I tried haha.
Anyways, just wanted to satisfy my curiosity is all - I'll be sticking to my diaphragms, theres no question about that, but I certainly find the voice calling very, very interesting. Those guys and girls can hit some pretty crazy sound bugles, I've gotta say.
