Rangefinder in the fog

This past weekend was the end of the archery deer season here in PA. we had a good snow pack since after Christmas, but this past weekend was unseasonably warm, thus causing a dense fog, with visibility limited to about 60 yards. Anyhow. My rangefinder refused to give a range in the fog.  Has anyone else experienced this?

I have had it happen once and the fog was extremely bad.  I could only see about 40-50 yards at most.

Yeah this year both me and my hunting partner had fodthat wasn't that bad. I use a nikon 44o he had a nice leupold arc angle, both were not working until the fog lifted.

Always a problem in the fog. This post did remind me of a hunt where I could not see 100 feet in the fog. Then across the canyon there was one single hole in the fog. When I looked into the hole there was a herd of elk. Got a raghorn out of the deal.
