Does anyone have a single stack 9?
Care to tell me what you think of your specific model?

I?m probably going to pick one up in January for my birthday.  Considering S&W or Glock.

Prices aren?t too far off and I get good general feedback on both.  Just figured I?d ask in here too.

The S&W Shield 9mm is what your after.  Thin gun with a great trigger, sometimes you can find them on sale.

Now that you mention that I found a few spots they are selling them dirt cheap! I like it!

Our local Farm & Ranch store has a 9MM Sig Saur single stack for around 5 bills. Neat looking gun. I would have bought it but the slide release was a righty.

I love glocks but did not like they're small 42/43's and how they fit. I carry a M&p shield in a 9 every day... I can't say enough about this gun. The trigger and fit are both exceptional for a small frame gun. The Rugers I could never get used to their triggers, most other ccw's either don't fit well or don't balance well. The shield does it all. The trigger is actually really good and the gun itself feels as stable as a full size without having to carry a full size. I still carry glocks often but when wearing more athletic fitting clothes the shield is a treat to carry.

I have an LC9s and a Shield 9. Both are great guns.  The LC9s has a better trigger.  Matter of fact, it is as nice of a striker fired trigger you will find. I didn't like the safety being so pronounced on the LC9s but they offer one without a safety.

The shield9 is my favorite overall. I like the feel of it better and I like the safety better. You can also get this handguns without a safety. If you are willing to pay a little more you can get the performance center shield. It comes with upgrades on both the sights and trigger. The trigger upgrade makes it equivalent to the LC9s.

If I had your money i'd just buy them all including a Glock, Sig and a Kimber.

There has been some good input above but I would caution anyone about buying a certain handgun ?just because I have one?

Try em all out. Make sure you get the feel YOU want in your palm, as everyone?s hands are different
Decide if you want a safety or the safety trigger.

Ultimately you need to decide what / how you?re going to carry it or use it.

Maybe Phil will chime in since he carried a weapon everyday in law enforcement

All my many years in law enforcement I carried Smith's... As a regular side arm and backup... So I'm really not the one to ask BUT I do have an opinion  and that's all it is...

IF   I carried today it would most likely be a Smith MP Shield 9mm... It's light enough, has a 7+1 and 8+1 mag, is small enough even with the 8+1 mag, HAS A GREAT FEEL TO ME and as mentioned before has a great trigger for a conceal to carry firearm...

Like I said I'm really not the one to ask but IF   I concealed to carry today I'd have 2... 1 easy to get to and the other where I could get to it AFTER the other was empty...

My 2nd would be a KelTec PF9 for the same reasons as the Smith but more of a "budget" weapon since they were at one time cheaper than the Smith..

I do own several Smith's and a KelTec PF9...

Let me be perfectly clear...The majority of the time I was in law enforcement the ol' wheel gun was all I carried... Only in the waning years did I carry semi-automatic weapons...

Plus make sure the weapon FITS YOU and you don't try to fit the weapon as Brad said...

I've never tried any of the other above mention handguns and have nothing good or bad to say about any of them... But in my case "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"...

I'm a revolver guy myself Phil.... I own... A LOT of S&W .38s and .357s :D

That's why I am definitely partial to the Shield.
I've shot the Shield and liked it, held the glock, and I believe a sig.

Nice gun, Brad.  not Derek BTW :p

There is a bass pro and some other gun stores near by. I'll go see if they have any for me to hold.

I considered buying a few other handguns but never did.  I had a really nice watch I planned to pawn but never got around to it.  :tease:

I carry both the LC9 and the Smith and Wesson Shield.  Both have performed flawlessly.  I do seem to carry the shield more though.  Both shoot well.

If you haven't purchased something yet you might take a look at the Springfield Armory XDS 9mm. Great shooting gun, easy to carry, and you can get them with 7+1, 8+1, or 9+1.

Esse quam videri

my brother carries a .357 as his concealed carry.  it's some SmithWesson.

5-shot revolver.  hammerless.

i shot it. he said it was accurate.  it has a single action trigger..so the pull is looong.  but i hit a can right in the middle at 17ish yards.  i never hit crap with the first shot of any pistol.  it is accurate!!

you can carry it in your front pocket.  he uses a soft IWB holster.  very cool gun.

That?s the thing.  I have 13 different Smith and Wesson revolvers, 5 of which are .357.

I have one full size S&W .40 semi auto.
So basically I?m wanting to diversify my gun options [emoji23]
