Worth the Weight (not wait)?

I like mine for long distances but don\'t know if I really NEED it. It\'s probably 10-12 oz.

I believe I read an article in a bowhunting magazine somewhere recently where they tested this. A couple of people shot with and without a stabilizer I belive they were the shorter hunting style. There was little to no difference. Not enough to be concerned with. They also shot with and without the grip. The bows shot without the grip or a skinny handle verse a fatter wood grip (which I seem to like) shot noticably tighter groups.

i didnt have one for prob 15 years. didnt notice a difference in shooting. not sure why i have one now

Most of these new bows have dampening systems built in. That in turn takes away the effectiveness of needing a stabilizer for general hunting purposes.
Now if you taking longer shots, i.e. antelope hunting, a stabilizer may indeed help those shots.

I have one on my bow, but not sure why

I threw mine away. Couldn\'t see where it did anything for accuracy or noise dampening.

I want my bow as light as I can get it, so no stabilizer for me & have a hip quiver to further reduce the weight. Haven\'t saw any disadvantage to not having one for hunting. Targets are a different game.

I think mine helps balance my bow in my hand. It helps keep the bow vertical without my gripping the bow. I don\'t think it does much for quieting the bow. I plan to keep mine.

That would be one reason to have one. I relax my hand and see what the bow does. If it tips the top limb back toward you quickly then I feel a stabilizer is needed. I have a short Sims Limbsaver stabilizer. It balances my bow and helps with vibrations( I shoot a 14 Year Old Bow).

I\'m a fan of the little B-stinger stabilizer. I think it balances my bow and doesn\'t seem to get in the way while in a tree stand. Not sure what it will do while in the mountains. I just started shooting longer distances the past couple of years. It improved my groups past 40 so I\'m going to leave it on.

Got rid of mine this week ... haven\'t noticed anything in terms of accuracy.

Glad to be done with it.

I\'ll experiment later this month. Sat is my deer opener and I ain\'t touching a thing. I have a tiny stab in my desk. I want to use it simply to hold my wrist sling.

The bolt for your rest is exactly the same as the stabilizer bolt. Also dropped about 10 oz. going to a small Doinker stabilizer with no difference in grouping

I bet I have the same doinker. It\'s tiny.
