Great intel on this site I just joined Elk101. 





I?m very much Enjoying the forums and the information,


i?m Leaving NC on Sept 13 to hunt the last full week of archery. I?m looking at units 15, ALSO 231, 25 and 26 over by the flat tops.




Has anyone hunted in unit 15 near the old 2016 burn on the Sarvis creek area?

In 231 if you go in from yampa to the end of the road at the gate at the end of Stillwater resivoir it is an 8 mile trail through the flat tops wilderness all the way to trappers lake. Will be quite a few people until Labor Day then pretty much have lots of space to yourself. Lots of side trails, water, meadows, black timber and there are elk in there.

Thanks guys,  I?m really looking forward to this trip.
I have a good friend that hunts from the fish and cross ranch near yampa and he has given me some tips for some areas in 231.  It will be my B spot
I?ll have my bow, calls, gear, but this trip is all about the experience.
