TEXAS hunting

Does anyone here hunt big game in Texas, especially West Texas.  I'd love to talk to someone.  I'm new to Texas so I'd love to find some DIY hunts that I'm not having to lease and what not.

With 98% of the state privately owned, check out the type 2 permit and they'll send you maps of all the public land you can hunt with that and what species a available, then get ready to enjoy a crowd. They also have some draw hunts for various big game species (even elk) and then a lot of the corp of eng properties run separate first come permit hunts for deer, hogs, etc.  Last resort befriend a land owning buddy.  Good luck.
