I want to see your pictures of the first elk you took with a bow! (If you have pictures.)
Mine was a massive cow in 2008 and I still remember it like it was yesterday not that it was that long ago.
I was making some cow calls trying to work a bull that was screaming by my buddy who was 75 yards ahead of me and she slipped by him and had passed by me three times looking for the cow doing all the chirping. I told my self if she comes by again I'm going to stick her. When I felt she was far enough away that i wouldn't spook her i chirped again and she turned around and came right back down to me. She gave me a 15 yard quartering away shot. I hit her a little high and behind the last rib. We gave her an hour and started following a very light blood trail. 100 yards later there she was!!!! The arrow made a full pass through and exited about 4 inches behind the other shoulder. The blood trail was really light because of how high i shot her but I'm grateful we found her. I still have the martin bow i shot her with too. my parents bought me that bow when i turned 21 and i shot it for 4 years before i killed anything with it. it has since been retired for my dxt.
p.s. ignore the horrible attempt at the handle bar mustache i have since learned to grow less patchy facial hair!
