Welcome Matt.

I agree that some people give out to much about specific areas. The area we hunt now has been over run because of one person.

Welcome Matt!

Everyone has great points! One thing to add is that a lot of poachers are caught each year because of what they post.

Of course the web has helped! It makes information infinitely available at the touch of a key. If the web hasn\'t helped you I guess you already know it all and can\'t possibly be helped anyway ;)

I still can be if that\'s what everybody wants. I was surprised by the response I got in that thread. I was expecting.......Cya, and don\'t let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.

The internet has helped way more than the hinder. I can look at stats of drawing and harvests online to decide where to go. Once I narrow down a place i can look at maps and satelite images to have a feel of the area before I get there. I can ask away here and get info or read posts from the past. Without internet I would have to call the dow and purchase or ask for all the data I get from the net. I could order several maps wasting money, buying many maps I don\'t need, to decide on an area. I could go do outdoor shows and ask other hunters questions or buy many books to get info about the animal I am hunting.

Help= definately.

Hinder= anyone can get this info easily resulting in more hunters in some areas.

The internet makes getting supplies and gear easier too. You don\'t have to drive an hour or so to an outdoor or hunting store. Plus you can shop and compare prices so easily.

Being from the Wisconsin, it has definitely helped. I\'ve learnt a great deal from reading posts on the forums. Its also allowed me to study my topo maps in relation to google earth images. The bull I shot last year came as a result of making note of water holes on the topo map, then going to google earth to see if those water holes were in the open or more timbered areas. I then spent mid-day at a timbered in water hole.
