I take an old wind checker bottle I have had for years and refill it with corn starch. It works fine for me. I love the milk weed silk too. That stuff carries in the wind for many yards and off out of sight if it gets a little updraft to keep it going. :upthumb:

Here is my wind checker. To make it, I pull the foam insert out of the hood of my bow quiver and drill a small hole. Next I place a cotton ball up inside the hood under the hole and pull a small amount of cotton out. Then replace the foam and WA-LA that\'s all there is to it. Just pull out a small piece and let it float away on the wind currents.

I know my picture isn\'t the best in the world. But the small white dot in the center of the hood is where a piece of the cotton ball is sticking out.

I am a fan of the milk weed silk as well. May have to try it in the bow quiver too. Although I leave my quiver on my pack.

That\'s a great idea, Bill, but my quiver is usually on my back...
I usually just pluck a grey hair and tie it onto my bow riser. At first I thought it might be too heavy, so I tested it all day using a puffer, and it matched directions pretty well. But this only works if you have some long hair!

I always just hunt with mine on my bow, then when I get to a spot I wanna set up at, then I take it off.

I take mine off when I am in the tree stand hunting deer.

While elk hunting it is on my bow. I would hate to need an arrow in a hurry and have my quiver on my pack and out of reach.

Mine rides sits on the right side of my pack. I like that better then keeping it on the bow, but it also allows me the same ease to grab another arrow if in a hurry for a second shot. just my preference!
