This is slowly becoming real.....

I went and shot my bow this morning already. When I left at daybreak it was 60 out so it was pretty nice shooting weather. :upthumb:

I\'m shooting great so I can\'t wait to get out west and hear some bulls screaming again!

Speaking of bulls screaming :D :D How\'s the duck population look up your way.... I know the migration hasn\'t started yet except fr maybe a few teal???

Our low yesterday was 77 and high was 96 with a heat index of 110 meaning the humidity was terrible... Humidity is not my friend... :downthumb: :downthumb:

But we have been having weird weather this year with well above average rain and several days of cool to use weather in July and so far in August... This weekend is supposed to be nice with chances of thunderstorms and high\'s in the low 90\'s to mid to high 80\'s... :D :D

I can\'t wait for the cool north winds of fall and the whistling wings that come with it... :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

28 days 10 hours 22 minutes til the teal fly and so does the steel... :D :D
 
Phil it looks better than the last couple of years for local ducks. There are always Mallards around but there seems to be more local bills this summer. Have seen more woodies this summer all so. With all the rain this year we have a good wild rice crop so it should be a better hunt up here this year.

Shot my bow this weekend, worked out, started my food shopping..... YAY
 
Started rounding up my gear. I will nail it down this weekend. I need to do some shopping for food and then I will be set.
 
It don\'t seem like it\'s going very fast to September 10th... I guess I\'m like a kid waiting for Christmas this year... It\'s been since mid November last year since i been able to hunt anything except the refrigerator... :D :D
 
I talked to the pilot that will be flying us in the other night.
Went over some details and logistics.

He will be dropping us into a lake he has hunted moose before.
He mentioned to not venture very far from the small lake because you can hear the moose calling right from camp on shore.
Call them right into camp if you can

I also talked to my buddy, if all goes well we just may try to take 2 moose and maybe a griz

Just make sure ya\'ll have good personal flotation devices when the pilot drops ya\'ll \"into a lake\".... :haha: :haha:

The griz thing might be fun with a bow.... Reminds me of a story I heard about griz hunting with a bow but that can wait till later... :D :D
 
Oh I cant shoot a griz, but my buddy can... and he will use the 375 H&H for that

21 days and counting for me... Weather forecast for this weekend is a cool push from the north... Real early groups of blue wing have most likely been here and gone... Hunting buddy is going to check out the area we hunt this weekend... The cool air has been nice for the past several days except for the 5\" rain we got it was great... Lows in the low 60\'s sound like front porch weather to me... :upthumb: :upthumb: :upthumb:

By the way did I say that I\'ve had all my junk read since back in July.... :lol: :lol:
 
After spending Friday through Sunday up in the mountains.... I decided it needs to be opening day now.


Saw some elk, found some sheds and got some good scouting in. I\'ll post pictures later!
8 days until I leave for camp and 10 days until the season starts!!!
 
I\'m jealous of you guys for sure! We had a little gathering yesterday to discuss opening weekend strategies for a couple of other guys in our group who are actually going to get to hunt. It\'s rough having to watch them get to go without me, but I\'m guessing I\'ll make it out fairly soon. Sitting at home is going to kill me and I\'m not going to be able to last very long!
