I'm not sure if there is a poll like this out there yet. So I thought I would put one on and so I can see a visual of when most Elk101 guys are out and about. Plus its always fun to compare. And if you want you can state why you like to hunt that time of year(I know that topic is already on message boards).

Sept 15-30th. For me, I find the best bugling action somewhere in the middle of those dates. Usually 20th-24thish....... :)

I put 1st R cause that is when I like to go,it's usually a MZ for me in NM tho.
Never drawn an early R tag either, just MZ or late R. Which I also take easy.

actual I prefer opening day of archery all the way till the end of November. Its all good. but my favorite is  early rut when the elk start bugling and before they herd up. easier to pull in the herd bull before he has a herd.

I chose Sept. 1st and Sept. 15th.

Sept. 1st - I like opening weekend because the elk haven't had any pressure, yet. They should still be in the same areas and in the same patterns as when they were scouted until they get pushed.

Sept. 15th - The elk start to get vocal around this date, and calling to bugling bulls is why I hunt!
