As my whitetail season draws down, I am foaming at the mouth to get back out there trapping.

If I would just hurry up and kill my second buck I could start sooner.

I have my main 280 acre farm I hunt.
A new 150 acre I got access to hunt this year.
Plus a main property (320 acres) on a property the land owners live on.

My daughter and I are hoping to break 100 critters again.

Part of me wants to because it makes for a fun season, However if we don’t break that and have lower numbers then I think our trapping has been working…

What all are you trapping? What are you doing with the critters you catch? 100 critters in that size of area is impressive!

Raccoons and possums, Derek. I did catch one skunk last year too, but those are rare.

I did add a few new traps for bobcats and coyotes this year.

I’ll be honest we don’t do anything with them. I always make posts to see if anyone wants them, but they end up in the wood pile.

I’m just trying to maintain the turkey and quail population that I have!
